Based in Cardiff, Lucy founded Gelar with one clear vision: to act as an extension of every client’s business, providing the insight and experience of an in-house property team, without the fixed overheads.
“We’re an outsourced in-house property function,” Lucy explains. “We can be the entire property team for a business or support an existing one. Our approach is collaborative, we work closely with finance, operations, and the board so everything stays aligned.”
Lucy launched Gelar after years working in retail property teams for brands such as Halfords, spotting a gap in the market for outsourced in-house expertise, particularly for smaller teams or businesses looking to scale. Since then, Gelar has grown steadily, working with some of the UK’s most recognised brands across retail, healthcare, food & beverage, and veterinary sectors, including Scoffs Group (Costa’s largest franchisee), Linnaeus Veterinary Group and Connells/Countrywide.
While Gelar’s reach is national, the team is proud to be building the business from Wales, offering a flexible, client-focused alternative to London-based consultancies.
Lucy sums up the approach: “It’s not just about acquiring a site or renewing a lease; it’s about aligning with the wider business strategy. Every client gets a tailored plan, and that’s what makes our approach genuinely unique.”
